MFX-1 IoT Edge Computing Gateway based on Mainflux IoT platform is developed on the optimized hardware,
the SolidSense N6 Industrial Internet of Things gateway designed for servicing a local network of IoT devices
satisfying market demands and unique requirements of industrial M2M IoT solutions for a high performance,
secure, robust and overall compliant device.
Mainflux IoT Platform implemented on the optimized Edge Gateway hardware, creates with a
centralized Mainflux IoT instance in the cloud an unified comprehensive full turn-key IoT system.

Considering that the same codebase is deployed on the edge gateway and in the cloud,
Mainflux Labs unifies the IoT platform implementation over edge-fog-cloud continuum.
Deploying, managing and maintaining a unified platform is much easier, than
keeping track of several different platforms (one for gateway, one for fog datacenter,
one for cloud) that together make an IoT system.
For the full functionality, special middleware connectors are created both on
the IoT Platform and IoT Edge Gateway side and additional original application
with user-interface for the control and management of the whole IIoT System.
Mainflux IoT Platform acts as remote control of the IoT Edge Gateway, management, storage,
advanced, analytics and learning, acting as meta-instance of more immediate processing data needs.
Deployed on a gateway, Mainflux is used to accept various end device connections that talk different
protocols (devices connected to a gateway), authenticate and authorize them, encrypt the communication,
distribute messages furtheror even store them locally on the gateway in dedicated lightweight databases.
Due to the leading edge design of the Mainflux open-source IoT Cloud platform, Linux Foundation invited Mainflux Labs
in 2017 to participate as a member of its EdgeX Foundry Project and later LF Edge organization with companies
including AT&T, Dell, Baidu, HP, Ericsson, Huawei, NOKIA, Red Hat, Samsung, Intel and IBM.
Considering our contribution to the EdgeX, Mainflux Labs received two awards from the community of 80 companies:
Contribution Award for Exemplary Leadership and Innovation Award for Extensive Technical Contribution
Over 80 member companies across the IoT space including Dell, AMD, Toshiba, Analog Devices, and Samsung.
Objective: Build a vendor-neutral, flexible, highly-scalable and industrial-grade open source edge software platform supported by a rich ecosystem of plug-and-play components that unifies the marketplace and accelerates the deployment of IoT solutions.
Chairs the Application Workgroup in Technical Steering Committee.
Member at large Technical Steering Committee.
Community Contribution Award for Exemplary Leadership Innovation Award for Extensive Technical Contribution.
